I want to complete a commerce degree (majoring in two of either corporate finance, accounting or marketing), and was considering sometime after that completing an MBA. Is it really worth it?

IMO getting an MBA from a good school will advance your career substantially, but just getting the letters after your name is of questionable value. As a hiring manager I've been shocked that people with MBA on their resume sometimes didn't know even the basics of business/finance (ex. what Net Present Value is). For me, an MBA raised my salary $40K right out of school and allowed me a much wider set of career options on a steeper trajectory (so definitely worth it).

It wasn't for me. At a cost of nearly $30,000 a year to get a $40,000 a year job (if I'm lucky), I said no and got a CDL instead. 1/6 the cost of an MBA and I make just as much. However, if you qualify for scholarships that allow you to go basically for free (or even provide living on money in addition), then that is definately worth it.

It depends on what you are wanting to do with your career. If you are going into high-level management or high-level administration then it is necessary. It is a nice tool for teaching college level. But you must be willing to have your life disrupted for two years or on hold for one year. If you can earn your MBA right after college, you may be able to get financial aid and you will be able to defer those college loans. The down side is that you may be over $100,000 in debt when you are done.
