Ask around among americans that have finished an MBA they will give you that information - no other people will be able to give you any kind of valuable information on this. THere are however universities that are known to specialise in cerrtain subjects: - Kellog (marketing) - I believe that is in California - MIT (all technical subjects) - Chicago - Illinois - Berkeley - government law (California)

As for getting in, well...all programs have different strengths and weaknesses, but generally, having good "real world" work experience, a good academic background, and a drive that comes through in your app (I once knew someone who was waitlisted at the U of Michigan [#11 on the list], but requested an interview, which was not required of applicants, and therefore gained admission by showing drive, confidence, and determination).
